Best Little Greene Paint Colours: 3 Designer Picks

2 min read

If I could only use one paint brand for the rest of my interior design career it would be Little Greene Paint Company, no question!

Long before I became a designer myself, I was using LG paint throughout my own home. I love the vibrancy and boldness of the colours along with the excellent quality of the paint (I have done a lot of painting!).

I recently made an Instagram reel sharing my top three Little Greene paint colours. You can watch it here. But I thought it might be good to go a little deeper on these colour choices here over on the blog.

1: Little Greene - Portland Stone Light

My first choice is Portland Stone - Light. It's a lovely earthy colour that looks like an off-white in some lights and deep and warm in others. It's perfect for a bedroom or home work space, especially if you accent it with a complementary colour on the woodwork. Here you can see how I used the colour in a home office, paired with a dark grey/green on the skirting boards and door frame:

2: Little Greene - Adventurer

Adventurer is not for the faint-hearted. It's a deep, rich plum-red which I think is extremely well suited to a period home. I can imagine it working beautifully on a staircase and it is currently featuring as a cabinet colour in a kitchen design I'm working on at the moment (pictured below). It feels like a colour perfectly suited to autumn, especially if used in a snug or separate living room which is used more in the cooler months.

3: Little Greene - Garden

My final choice is Garden. It's a sumptuous green which is perfect for colour drenching. In fact, I suggested that a Rapid Revamp client use this colour in the tricky 'middle room' of her Victorian semi-detached house. The room was previously lacking in interest and I suggested that by colour-drenching it in this bold colour it would become a show-stopper. She followed my advice and was delighted with the results!

I should also add that this is not a sponsored post, I just really rate Little Greene paints. They have just released 26 new colours, which I'm currently exploring, and I plan to write another post like this featuring my top choices from the new range.
